"Gaining Strength in Tough Times"
Client Name: Winifreda Pacino Address: Sitio Magurampao Cata-an, San Joaquin Iloilo
Two jeepneys and a tricycle ride away from Iloilo City lies the sleeping Sitio Magurampao in Cata-an, San Joaquin where a woman though tested by life and the lost of a husband did not shuddered her, but continued to move on gaining strength and faith from God.
Sixty two year old Winifreda Pacino lived a meager life in their small community. Wini as her friends would call her met and married Wilfredo. The couple, however, was not blessed to conceive a child. But that did not stop the couple to live happier, they adopted a small boy which they called Richard.
When it seems all things were doing well, at 54 Wilfredo died from a cardiac arrest. Despite the loneliness and difficulty of her husbands passing, Wini moved on along with Richard.
The struggling mother started her business by selling grilled fish and vends them to the different towns of Iloilo. She also cuts and curls hair as a sideline. After her husband died she started to open her own commodity store where she used her social security as a capital.
Her store back then was their living room window. With a starting capital of 400 pesos and faith in God, she worked hard for her and her son's future. When a beer company introduced a raffle promo luck knocked on Wini's doorstep. She won a sufficient amount for her to build a small hut where she placed her goods. She also bought additional piglets and two video game sets. She said, with Richard working as technician supporting his own family, and she has her own business that can support her for the rest of her life she had nothing more to wish for.
With storms that battered her house that Wini decided to build shelter for her and Richard's family. During those times, a friend introduced to her to TSKI. At first she was hesitant in borrowing money but with her dreams looming in on her she joined in and was able to loan a start off amount for her dream house.
In 2005 she is now a member of the company and at that time started planning her house as well. She used the amount to purchase constructing materials.
Wini is proud of her decision and will continue to be a member until she reached the age limit of 65. She liked TSKI because of its vision, mission, and being a Christian organization.
