There are days that pass us by and then there are days that change us. On June 28, 2025, Taytay sa Kauswagan (A Microfinance NGO), Inc. and TSKI Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC) took a purposeful pause to honor, uplift, and embrace the elderly residents of Asilo de Molo Home for the Aged, a humble sanctuary run by the Sisters of the Daughters of Charity for a Servant Leadership Program.
During the Elderly Care Visit Activity, with hearts wide open and hands ready to serve, the team alongside the passionate OJT nursing students from College of St. John-Roxas stepped into the home bearing warm meals, sweet bananas, clean water, and something even more nourishing: compassion.
What began with a short prayer bloomed into something truly moving. The elderly, many of whom have endured lives of silence, abandonment, and loss, were met with laughter, warmth, and human connection. There were smiles exchanged, hands held, stories shared. Some cried softly at the presence of new faces who treated them not as forgotten souls, but as family. Their eyes lit up, not just from the gifts given, but from the joy of being seen, being remembered, and being loved. For a few precious hours, the walls of Asilo echoed not with loneliness, but with life.
More than just a donation drive, TSKI Staff Volunteers and TSKI MPC Staff and Members of the GAD Committee brought with them boxes of goods, adult diapers, sacks of rice, and generous gift packages, yet the greatest gift was presence. As Ma’am Rhoden beautifully said, “Visiting here is healing.”
And truly, it was. Healing is not just for the elderly, but for every heart that showed up that day. Because in giving, we are filled. In serving, we are changed. And in loving, we are reminded of what truly matters. This day is now a memory etched in the heart of TSKI—a reminder that no one is ever too old to be cherished.
